2026-27 Top 100 Teams Countdown #53: Little Rock Trojans

The amount of high level transfers joining Little Rock this season is shocking. Terrion Burgess is the lone returner for this group maintaining big man depth and good upside showing a lot of flashes last season. Bradyn Hubbard, Aaron Clark, and Jah'Likai King ALL led other Mid-Major teams in scoring. Hubbard led Abilene Christian in scoring, Aaron Clark led Pepperdine in scoring, the same for King with UMBC. That is absolutely wild and almost unheard of. They all can do more than just lead a team in scoring as they'll bring defense and rebounding to Little Rock as well. Speaking of rebounding, they also added Pittsburgh transfer, Papa Amadou Kante who averaged 5.4 REB in just 8 GP off the bench for an ACC program. Could average a double double for the Trojans this. Jamai Felt coming over from Temple also brings a lot of potential down low. Many good JUCO products and other transfers round out this roster really well too. In a way, Little Rock has recruited like a Power 5 school this offseason and that means they should find success one way or another.

2026-27 Top 100 Teams Countdown #72: UC Irvine Anteaters

UC Irvine ranks 1st in Defensive Efficiency with a decent gap between 2nd place in Torvik and nearly top 50 in that category in the nation. 42% of their minutes returning helps a lot with that. UC Davis transfer Nils Cooper is a big addition to this team as he was a really good defender and bucket getter for the Aggies this past season, but a downside is he has just never been able figure out that 3 point shot in his career. I don't think this team is as good as the past few years because the offense declines a bit, but will still be a really strong Big West team with the amount of guys they have returning, the talent of their incoming freshmen, and the fact that you can never count out Russ Turner. Olivier Rioux is also on this team making them must watch and is expected to play a big role!

2026-27 Top 100 Teams Countdown #80: Austin Peay Governors

Austin Peay has gotta have one of the weirdest rosters in the country this season, but that doesn't take away from the fact that I think they're gonna be a pretty good team. Just 4 of their players played college basketball last season. Yup, you heard that right, NINE of their 13 are incoming freshman this year. But, get this, 2 of those 4 guys were their 2nd and 3rd leading scorers for the team last season and BOTH should be in the running for UAC POY. Loyola Chicago transfer Chuck Love III will also be elite for this team. Of course they wouldn't be on this list if a majority of their team is being made of freshmen weren't some of the best in the conference. Traymaine Belanger, Alexander Davis, and Bradley Floyd highlight that loaded class and helps the Governors be first by a good margin in Projected Effective Talent for the UAC in Torvik. Such an interesting team, but very intriguing. Just realized I have back to back schools with Austin in its name and it gave me t...

2026-27 Top 100 Teams Countdown #100: Alabama A&M Bulldogs

This may come in as a surprise, but I think Alabama A&M is arguably gonna be the best team in the SWAC next season. They return multiple key pieces compared to the rest of the league and the most notable being starting forward James Graham III who averaged double figures. The Bulldogs also return 5 other contributors from last season and 3 of them will be seniors along with Graham III! It doesn't end there though as they also bring in 3 solid JUCO transfers who will contribute right away as well as Old Dominion transfer Stephaun Walker who averaged 7 rebounds for the Monarchs 2 seasons ago and freshman Canisius transfer Javante Edwards. Overall, the Bulldogs have phenomenal and experienced size and are very well rounded to build off of the flashes they showed last season.
